Legal and privacy
Draft legal, privacy, cancellation, verification, complaint, and payout wording for the September launch. These documents must be reviewed locally before production.
These policies are product groundwork, not legal advice. Cameroon-qualified legal, tax, consumer-protection, payment-provider, licensing, safeguarding, accounting, and operational review is still a launch blocker.
Who operates Valuable Stay
Production deployment is blocked until every identity and contact field is configured. Do not replace these fields with invented details.
Request-to-book terms, the 0 percent guest fee, launch host commission, payment safeguards, and approval dependencies.
Draft. Guests can browse publicly. A booking request requires account sign-in, accurate guest contact details, acceptance of booking terms, cancellation rules, house rules, and the privacy notice. Valuable Stay charges no listing fee or subscription. Launch host commission is 8 percent of the accommodation subtotal for the first three months and the guest service fee is 0 percent. Later host commission may move toward 10 percent only after launch learning and an explicit policy update. Before payment, the guest must review the final amount, cancellation and refund treatment, reserved-funds terms, and approved payment instructions. Collection, reserved funds, payout timing, disputes, refunds, chargebacks, licensing, safeguarding, accounting, tax, consumer protection, and provider approval wording require Cameroon-qualified review before production.

Draft cancellation, refund, incident hold, payout hold, and service recovery treatment.
Draft. Cancellation and refund decisions are recorded separately from booking status. Serious access, safety, misrepresentation, fraud, payment, refund, chargeback, compliance, and payout-destination incidents can create active payout holds. A check-in code or guest access confirmation never bypasses an incident or refund hold.

Guest acknowledgement that listing-specific rules are accepted before submitting a request.
Draft. Guests must review the public listing rules, maximum guest count, check-in expectations, and any disclosed stay restrictions before submitting a request.

Explains account, booking, payment, messaging, location, verification, incident, and legal-request handling.
Draft. Public browsing does not require an account. Browser location is requested only to prioritize nearby published stays and precise discovery coordinates are ephemeral by default. Messaging is processed for delivery, safety controls, abuse prevention, support, moderation, legal requests, and dispute handling. Administrators may access conversations only for support, safety, moderation, incident, legal, or operational reasons. Google Maps Platform may be used as a location provider where enabled.

Explains no verification needed to create/manage drafts, but verification required to go live.
Draft. Hosts may create and manage private draft inventory before checks. Listings require verification before publication. Trusted hosts may later publish faster, returning verified hosts may receive lighter checks, low-risk edits may avoid reinspection, new properties still require inspection, and suspicious listings receive manual review.

Explains how guests and hosts raise problems, incidents, evidence, and follow-up.
Draft. Guests can request help from their booking page, report conversation problems, or contact operations. Incidents are triaged by severity, can link evidence and recovery records, and require outcome and follow-up before resolution.

Reserved-funds handling, payment instructions, payout timing, guest protection, disputes, refunds, and licensing dependencies.
Draft. Before paying, the guest must see the complete XAF amount, the 0 percent guest service fee, the applicable cancellation and refund terms, and the approved payment channel for the booking. Accepting these terms does not itself charge the guest. Funds recorded as received on behalf of hosts must be kept separate from operating cash and reconciled to immutable booking and payment ledgers. Host payout remains subject to check-in evidence, incident and dispute holds, refund obligations, fraud review, and the published payout schedule. Valuable Stay must not represent this process as licensed escrow unless that status is actually obtained. Production collection and payout require the necessary licensing or authorization, provider and bank approval, safeguarding or dedicated-funds arrangements, accounting and tax treatment, and Cameroon-qualified legal review. A policy clause is not a substitute for those obligations.
